Ops Insights #064 - Always Become Very Curious

April 30, 2025 | Read Time: 2 minutes | Written by Jenny Kleintop

Become very curious as this is how you'll learn, grow, and evolve.

If you need encouragement, take a look back at how far we've come or talk with those who have been in the profession for a long time. You'll hear all about paper files and those Rolodexes that kept contact information. And don't get me started on the evolution of online donations.

Keep on learning as we need you to keep the profession thriving.

Take Action

Here are 3 ways you can take action today:

1 ➡ Read the other editions of this blog, even if you’ve read all of them, go back through them as you have a different perspective today than you did when you initially read them.

2 ➡ Find 2 other blogs today and lean into those. Not sure which ones? Ask your peers or even ChatGPT or Perplexity.

3 ➡ Find a community or two and start to participate. It’s there where you can start to have 1:1 or small group conversations.

Lean into your curiosity and find ways to keep learning, growing, and evolving.

No Time? Try This

Learning to ask for help will get you help so you can make space to lean into curiosity.

Repeat after me.

Hi, I love what I do.

I’m really good at it.

I have a lot on my plate.

Because we are trying to do so many good things.

And I need help.

Please, may I get help?

And explain to your boss what that help is for you… Another person to help? A temporary resource? More time? Delegating projects? Help with prioritizing?

What do you need?

Figure out what you need and ask for.

Your boss doesn’t know unless you share.

You’ve got this!

👋 See you next time,

Jenny
